U11 Highlanders claim second tournament championship at Taylor Hall Classic
The U11 Grey Bruce Highlanders continued their strong season last weekend in Kingston, capturing their second tournament championship of the season with a dominant performance at the Taylor Hall Classic.

The Highlanders went a perfect 4–0 in round-robin play, earning the top seed heading into the playoff round. In the semifinals, the team continued its strong momentum with a convincing 8–1 victory over the Ajax Pickering Raiders. That win set up a championship matchup against the host Kingston Jr. Gaels. After a tightly contested, scoreless first period, the Highlanders scored seven goals across the second and third periods to secure the tournament title.

“Our team played very well throughout the tournament,” said Coach Rennie. “We strive to get better each and every day, and the players showed just how far they’ve come this season with their play at the Taylor Hall Classic. Our puck movement and commitment to playing as a team were key to our success.”

Over the course of six games, the Highlanders outscored their opponents by an astounding 52–6.

The weekend was about more than just wins on the ice. Players also benefited from valuable bonding experiences between games and proudly supported other Grey Bruce Highlanders teams who were also competing in the tournament.

Parents and extended families played an important role in the championship run as well, providing strong support throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to the U11 Grey Bruce Highlanders on an outstanding tournament and a well-earned championship!
